Extreme sustainability is not a slogan

From materials to energy to recycling — we account for every gram of carbon.

Six Sustainability Pillars

Six things we've achieved

🔋

No Charging Needed

Grid-independent — no plugging in, no battery swapping. Operational carbon emissions approach zero.

🧬

Supercapacitor Replaces Lithium Battery

Lithium-ion supercapacitor: longer cycle life, wider temperature range, no thermal runaway, free of cobalt and other conflict minerals.

☀️

OPV Indoor Light Generation

Organic photovoltaics — unlike perovskite — are completely lead-free. Generates power from indoor lighting alone.

♻️

30 Batteries Saved

Reduces approximately 30 disposable batteries over its lifetime, eliminating 450g+ of hazardous waste.

📦

Eco-Friendly Packaging

Minimalist structure, eco materials — reducing excess packaging and plastic lamination.

🌿

Recyclable ABS Material

The main body uses recyclable ABS, enabling material-grade recycling.

Why OPV

☀️ OPV: Unlike Perovskite — Completely Lead-Free

Organic photovoltaics (OPV) use carbon-based organic semiconductor materials that can be printed at low temperatures and are naturally flexible. Unlike the perovskite route, OPV contains no lead or heavy metals — making it a truly recyclable photovoltaic technology.

OPV outperforms traditional crystalline silicon in low-light environments (indoor lighting, overcast days) — which is exactly why it's the preferred choice for indoor light energy harvesting. LumaHarvest's OPV panels collect energy even under ordinary desk lamps and ceiling lights.

Lifecycle View

Breaking "extreme" into five stages

Green materials + low-carbon manufacturing + zero-consumption use + closed-loop recycling + transparent data — only when all five stages are connected can it be called extreme.

Closed-Loop Recycling — What We're Building Next

Phase 1

Trade-In Recycling Program

Users send back old lamps for a discount on new ones — both a sustainability loop and a repurchase driver.

Phase 2

Tool-Free Disassembly · Single-Material Design · Material Labeling

Lampshade / base / OPV / circuit board come apart by hand. Each part is stamped with a recycling code — turning "recyclable" into reality.

Phase 3

Digital Product Passport (DPP) · Carbon Footprint Label

Scan to view full-lifecycle carbon footprint, material list, and recycling instructions — proactively aligning with EU ESPR regulations.

Measured Impact

What saving 30 batteries really means

Eliminates 450g+ of hazardous waste — roughly the weight of a toothbrush, diverted from landfill.
Avoids the metal and chemical pollution of dozens of batteries — zinc, manganese, and ammonium chloride kept out of the soil.
One less active charge, one more moment of ease — operational carbon emissions approach zero.
